Medicare Part D - The Comprehensive Medicare Prescription
Drug Plan
Overview
Part D will provide insurance coverage for prescription
drugs to those who choose to enroll. When a plan is
purchased the enrollee will pay a monthly premium and
a co-payment or coinsurance for each prescription they
fill. These cost will vary depending on what Part D
Plan they choose to buy.

What's
happening for 2007?
Genworth
will introduce UnitedHealth RX plans fort he upcoming
selling season - "Medicare Part D insurance that's
predictable, affordable and simple to use." Genworth's
two plans provide convenience, ease-of-use and offer
different levels of coverage that works best for your
clients. The Plans:
- UnitedHealth
Rx Basic: Provides
affordable, predictable coverage that protects from
unexpected changes in prescription drug cost today
and in the future. It is designed with the features
needed and personal service your client deserves.
- UnitedHealth
Rx Extended: Provides the same coverage as UnitedHealth
Rx Basic plans, 100% of the drug covered by Medicare
Part D, plus includes a Bonus Drug List of commonly
used prescription drugs that are not normally covered
by Medicare Part D.
The
UnitedHealth Rx plans have flat copays and no annual
deductible. The formulary includes every brand-name
prescription drug or its generic version. UnitedHealth
Rx plans also provides an option of a convenient 90-day
supply and added savings though the preferred Mail Service
options.

Important
date to keep in mind
2007
Annual Enrollment period begins November 15 and ends
December 31, 2006. Don't let your clients miss the opportunity
to enroll or switch to one of the two UnitedHealth RX
plans.

The United Medicare MedAdvance product
will not be available for new sales beginning December
1, 2006, and during the 2007 Annual Enrollment period.

Agent
Training
Agent training will be required. Those agents who
have been certified to sell the United MedAdvance product
will be trained on the new products. Those agents who
have never been certified will need to be certified.

Pharmacy
Administrative Services
Effective January 1, 2007, United HealthCare will be
consolidating its Part D pharmacy administrative services
into the Ovations division of United HealthCare, Prescription
Solutions. Currently, these services are being provided
to United MedAdvance members though Walgreens Health
Initiatives (WHI). This change means that pharmacy networks
and preferred mail service will be transitioned to Prescription
Solutions. Walgreens Pharmacy will continue to participate
in the pharmacy network for Ovations Part D plans.
UHC
believes that consolidating the pharmacy administrative
services within Prescription Solutions will only enhance
the experience of the Part D members. During this transition
period, it will be as important as ever that they continue
to provide the highest quality service to their enrollees.
They are confident that they are capable of both managing
this transition well and providing valuable services
to the growing number or Part D enrollees in plans from
Ovations.
2007
Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) Models
CMS
has released the final model documents for the 2007
ANOC. Member will receive the ANOC with the summary
of benefits by October 31, 2006, along with an abridged
or comprehensive formulary. The 2007 plans are currently
being reviewed by CMS and more information will be available
once they are approved.
Marketing
Materials
You
should continue using the existing materials for all
enrollments through November 30, 2006, with coverage
effective dates of December 1, 2006. Information on
the new marketing material will be provided as soon
as it is available.
